Why We Give
At First Baptist Church Princeton, we believe giving is an act of worship. When we tithe—returning the first 10% of our income to the Lord—we are acknowledging that everything we have comes from Him. Giving is not just about money; it’s about trust, gratitude, and obedience to God’s Word. The word tithe literally means tenth, which is what we give to God through the general fund of FBC Princeton. Every dollar after 10% of your income becomes an offering that is made and can often be designated toward a specific need or ministry.
Tithing honors God – “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase” (Proverbs 3:9).
Tithing grows our faith – It helps us learn to rely on God’s provision.
Tithing fuels ministry – Through your giving, missionaries are sent, needs are met, and the Gospel is proclaimed locally and globally.
Our mission is to connect to Jesus and to people so that we can be rooted and rising in the light of Christ. Your generosity makes this mission possible—supporting worship, discipleship, outreach, and missions across the street and around the world.
We invite you to prayerfully consider the joy of tithing and generosity. When we give faithfully, we join in God’s work and experience the blessing of living open-handed before Him.
